Criminal defense: Pennsylvania man charged with stabbing murder

A murder charge can bring with it many negative ramifications. A murder conviction is life-changing. To fight this serious felony charge in Pennsylvania, enlisting the help of an experienced criminal defense team is crucial. A 24-year-old man from Pottstown is facing such a charge after police allege that he stabbed his former girlfriend's current boyfriend. The victim died in hospital from his wounds.

The incident is said to have occurred in early January just before midnight. It was listed as the first homicide in 2019 in Montgomery County. Police say the accused was picked up by his former girlfriend where they headed to a middle school parking lot to talk. The woman said she had asked the victim -- her boyfriend -- to be in the area to keep an eye out for her.

The woman pulled out a folding knife when she alleged that the accused began to threaten her. The accused managed to get the knife from his former girlfriend when the woman's current boyfriend arrived on the scene. The woman said the accused turned the knife on her boyfriend, stabbing him several times. In addition to a first degree murder charge, the accused is also charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and rape, among others.

The penalties for first degree murder in Pennsylvania are severe. This is the most serious of murder charges. If convicted, the accused could face life in prison or the death penalty. Having an experienced criminal defense attorney to help fight the charge could mean the difference in this case, between life and death.
